1What it is and why

What it isA periodic page that revalues open (unsettled) vendor transactions in foreign currencies by using a new exchange rate on a specified date, and keeps a record of each revaluation run.
What you do hereUsed to update the book value of open foreign-currency transactions; the differences are posted as unrealized gains or losses to the subledger and General ledger. It can run in real time or as a batch, and a simulation can be run first.
ExampleExchange rates have moved since vendor invoices in a foreign currency were posted, so at the considered date you revalue the open amounts and post the resulting unrealized gain or loss.
