What it is	A shortcut that fills in an account number and its dimensions when a ledger account is entered.

Example	For example, for an account and dimension combination that is used often in journals, users can type a short alias instead of the full main account and every dimension.

Create the ledger account alias
Go to General ledger > Chart of accounts > Accounts > Ledger account alias
1. Select New and enter the alias
2. On the Administration FastTab, choose the account structure
3. Enter the ledger account alias definition

Microsoft's steps

Go to General ledger > Chart of accounts > Accounts > Ledger account alias, and then select New.
In the Ledger account alias field, enter the short code.
In the Account structure field, select the structure that the account and dimensions belong to.
In the Company field, select the company that the alias applies to.
In the Ledger account alias definition field, enter the main account and dimensions.
In the Initial focus field, select the dimension the cursor moves to after the alias is used.
