| Example | For example, if a manual budget reservation would go over budget, you can create a budget transfer entry to cover the shortfall. |

3How to do it
Microsoft's steps
- Go to Budgeting > Budget register entries and select New.
- Select a budget model and a budget code. A reason code is optional.
- In the Budget account entries grid, select Add line.
- Enter the date. It decides which period the budget is recorded in.
- Select an account structure and enter the financial dimension values.
- Enter the amount, the amount type and the currency.
- On the Action Pane, select Update budget balances.
- Select OK, or enter batch criteria.
